It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for the North Jersey Blues Society monthly Blues & Brews series featuring Debra Devi and the Dudes who gave the crowd at Montclair Brewery some killer rocking blues music! Meet the very talented Dudes: Matt Wade on keys, Kevin Jones on bass, and John Roccesano on drums.
The band kicked off the first set with "Home Again" followed by nine more songs -- special callouts were "10 Miles to Clarksdale", based on Debra's tour promoting her book The Language of the Blues from Alcorub to ZuZu (click here for the book) and "Shake It" - it's about working in a strip club to pay the bills or get a guitar! The set closed with "When It Comes Down" - a beautiful song with some rippin' guitar (check out the video here) The second set included some great cover songs such as "Angel from Montgomery" blended with "Sugaree", "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and many more!
