An Unforgettable Evening of Blues at Ringwood Manor Barn Gallery

Ringwood Manor Hosts Live Music During 57th Annual Fall Exhibition

On Saturday night, the Ringwood Manor Association of the Arts (RMAA), in partnership with the North Jersey Blues Society (NJBS), welcomed music lovers for an intimate evening in the Barn Gallery at Ringwood Manor, as part of their 57th Annual Fall Exhibition, running from August 29 to October 3. The gallery’s warm wood walls and ceiling created the perfect setting, while guests enjoyed the vibrant art exhibit, adding a visual feast to complement the music.

The Uptown Boogie Band Takes the Stage

The spotlight was on The Uptown Boogie Band, a four-piece ensemble together for over a decade with more than 100 years of combined experience. Known for putting on a great show, the band performs popular music from the 1940s to the present. With a huge repertoire of songs, they delivered a versatile and engaging set perfectly suited to the evening.

Meet the Band:

  • Kurt Colon – Bass & Vocals

  • David Fox – Saxophone

  • Paul Weisenstein – Guitar & Vocals

  • Larry "The Lip" Lipschultz – Harmonica

  • George Schaefer – Drums

Guests listened intently to soulful vocals, sharp guitar riffs, smooth sax lines, and tight rhythms, fully immersed in the gallery’s intimate, wood-lined ambiance.  Larry “The Lip” added an extra touch of magic by walking around the crowd with his harmonica and even sitting down among the audience while playing, creating an intimate, interactive experience.

A Celebration of Music and Art

The evening was a true celebration of both music and visual art, blending auditory and visual experiences in a relaxed, inspiring setting. Attendees left energized and moved, reminded of how the arts can connect people in meaningful ways. From the first note to the last, the Uptown Boogie Band had everyone fully engaged. Their talent and showmanship highlighted why live blues continues to inspire and connect our community

Support and Collaboration

This event was made possible through the collaboration of NJBS and RMAA, with funding provided by a grant from the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council, supporting the arts and live music in the community.

Looking Ahead
