Mick Kolassa is a whirling dervish , an incredibly productive musician whose recent output just boggles the mind . " For The Feral Heart " is the successor to " They Call Me Uncle Mick " , released in the summer of 2022 . This is Micks third album released in 2022 ( !!! ) and every released project has a theme .

" Trans-Genre " music - from the opening blues-rocker "Running to You " Micks latest release takes the listener on a wondrous musical journey across the diverse and fascinating musical landscape of the US - blues , jazz , calypso , reggae , singer/songwriter and even American standards . There are ten originals and two covers here , a fascinating collection of music that will grab your attention , hold you tight , and embrace you with deep felt passion and emotion . Dave Mason's " Feeling Alright " gets a complete makeover featuring Mick and Jeff Jensen trading guitar licks . " As Time Goes By " - yes , THAT tune , by Herman Hupfield , known from the 1941 film "Casablanca " - ends Mick Kolassas twelfth album with a stellar jazz vibe.

Highlights Include :

* " Love Ain't Supposed To Make You Cry " is a showcase for Mario Monterosso's incredible guitar work , and this is one of Mick's trademark slow blues compositions.

* " Easy to Love " - a jazzy blues number

* " Forever Sometimes " is a wonderful reggae surprise

* " Hold On " is festively calypso

* Alice Hansen's beautiful violin is featured on several tracks - " I Left My Heart in Birmingham" and " Run Away With Me " .

* " I Keep Looking " brings us back to more acoustic blues, at which Mick is a master of the genre .

" For The Feral Heart " is an amazing release and the first time that Mick Kolassa has released something that is "NOTHING BUT LOVE SONGS !! " The music is beautifully produced , startling in styles ,and shifts gears more than my dad's class '68 Camaro ! Mick Kolassa is like a vintage wine - he just gets better and better with every tasting . Another interesting project from a brilliant musician and compelling songwriter . His wicked sense of humor shines here on many of these tracks . Assembled musicians are a rich source of inspiration and this is a stellar cast of dynamic performers . Highly Recommended ! Pick this one up for someone special , turn the lights low , and......Simply Irresistible!
