In 2011 at the age of forty-two, Gayle Harrod began her musical career as a soul and blues singer in the band "Triple Shot.” Flash forward to 2023 and Gayle Harrod has released her long overdue, highly anticipated, and remarkable debut release.
The Gayle Harrod Band was formed in 2017 with the focus on creating more original music. They have been featured on the weekly "Baltimore Hit Parade" radio show with Sam Sessa. The Gayle Harrod Band has torn up festivals and fired up excited crowds up and down the East Coast. Their loyal following continues to grow in leaps and bounds and their enormous popularity showing no signs of slowing down.
Harrod's voice is a powerful instrument with an astonishing range. At one moment she can caress you gently with a sensual intimacy. A few moments later Gayle can rock your world, defiant, strong, powerful, an incredible songstress with plenty of attitude. Listening to Gayle sing is a wondrous experience. I can easily imagine a live audience being easily entranced by the siren's songs being performed on that stage.
Temptation is propelled forward by a first-band that includes Gayles guitarist Stan Turk and her drummer Chuck Ferrell. Take one listen to the song "Waiting in the Shadows" and you can easily see how incredible Gayles voice can be. The entire band and the many guests taking part of these exciting sessions, take us on a trip that starts off on Beale Street with the dance-floor ready "Sweet Memphis Man" to the infectious second-line of "In the Deep Dark Night,” and on to the Texas Blues, Gospel-inspired "Temptation." The multi-talented band and the guests easily move from Chicago to Nawlins', into Memphis, through the Mississippi Delta and on to Muscle Shoals - without missing a beat. You will certainly hear the influences of Motown, Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, and plenty of Soul.
